Standing on Pyay Road in Yangon, the National Museum – the most important cultural museum in Myanmar, is home to an excellent collection of Burmese artifacts, ornaments, works of art, inscriptions and historic memorabilia.
Inaugurated in June, 1952, the National Museum of Myanmar is a five-storey building. Inside the museum, tourists will see the displays which are divided into two main themes: culture and historic periods of Burmese. Through 14 galleries in the museum, tourist will have an overview of every aspects of life and history of Burmese.
It is said that the National Museum is a great spot for those who are craving for Myanmar’s past and the understanding of Burmese.
