Upon arrival at port, your guide and driver will transfer you to Mt. Haguro where you will spend 6.5 hours to discover. The mount is one of the holiest lands in Japan where is home to various religious sites. At the entrance, welcoming pilgrims is Zuishinmon Gate leading to a stone stairway including nearly 2500 steps. On the way to reach the top, stop a while at Ideha Museum to witness artifacts and objects revealed the ancient history and fold religions.
When you are a bit tired, take a rest in Mt. Haguro Saikan, a temple lodging with convenient accommodation for overnight in a tatami room with dinner and breakfast provided. Next, head to the main site you will visit today – Sanjin Gosaiden – the most important Dewa Sanzan shrine. The shrine has a unique architecture of wooden-made walls with a thick thatched roof. The structure was built from the Middle Ages that now become a national cultural treasure.
After that, visit Ken Domon Museum of Photography – the first one in Japan where exhibits over 70,000 pieces of his works and documents of his life. Finish the trip by enjoying a delicious traditional Japanese meal at Kachofugetsu. Some significant dishes are wantan noodles, Japanese sardinella, soup, and so on. Complete the trip with a return back to port.
