When you arrived Kumamoto port, your guide and driver wait with welcome-board and then transfer you to the first place – Kumamoto Castle – one of the most beautiful castles in the whole country with large grounds and plenty of buildings surrounded by a forest of cherry blossom trees.
Then, head to Kato Shrine which dedicated to the lord of Kumamoto in the late 14th century. The shrine is home to a large number of historical relics and is the place that locals hold Seishoko Matsuri – the summer festival.
