Then, head to Kato Shrine which dedicated to the lord of Kumamoto in the late 14th century. The shrine is home to a large number of historical relics and is the place that locals hold Seishoko Matsuri – the summer festival.

After that, move to Sakura-no-baba Josaien , a cultural site near Kumamoto Castle with samurai houses, shops, and traditional exhibits. This Kumamoto shore excursion can be complete without a visit to Suizenji Jojuen Garden – one of the most beautiful Japanese-style garden in the country.
