Meet Your Guide and Depart from Port
Upon your ship’s arrival, meet your English speaking guide and driver at the port. After a warm welcome, depart by comfortable chartered vehicle to begin one of our thoughtfully designed Tokushima shore excursions.
Ryozen ji Temple
Begin your visit at Ryozen-ji Temple, the first temple of the revered Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage. Walk through the tranquil temple grounds, where pilgrims traditionally pray for a good beginning or give thanks for completing their pilgrimage. Scenic gardens, a carp pond, and a small waterfall create a calm setting that reflects the spiritual importance of this sacred site.
Naruto Whirlpools Observation Facility
Continue to the Naruto Strait and visit the Onaruto Bridge Crossing Memorial Hall, an observation and educational facility overlooking the famous whirlpools. Exhibits and displays explain how strong tidal currents, influenced by the moon and sun, generate the powerful vortices below the bridge.
Uzu no Michi Walkway
Next, step onto the Uzu no Michi Walkway, a 450 meter observation path suspended beneath the Naruto Bridge. Glass floor sections allow you to look directly down at the swirling currents, offering a dramatic and memorable view of the Naruto whirlpools from above.
Return to Port
After the visit, relax on the return drive to the port, arriving with ample time before your ship’s departure and concluding your day ashore with Shore Excursions Asia.
